Roleplaying Games
I’ve been busy lately. Actually I’m VERY busy. School, finals, work, and of course, roleplaying games. I’ve got a Scion game that a friend is running—I’m his assistant—and another game I’m running in which he’s my assistant.
I’ve been working on my second game for about a month now. It’s a completely homebrew system, entirely of my own devising. Which means, of course, that everybody is trying to poke their nose in somewhere to find an exploit for the rules, and I have to have the presence of mind to see that it’s bullshit and stop them in their tracks.
The plot so far has been pretty basic… rich kid needs escort from the south to the north, paying the equivalent of one half of a million dollars per head, yadda yadda. The way I’m running the game, though, I want suspicion cast throughout my players. To facilitate this, whenever their characters wouldn’t logically be able to watch what’s going on with another player’s character, that player is brought outside to do his rolls and such. Helps prevent metagaming, also keeps hidden any traitors. I’m encouraging traitors… unfortunately I haven’t really got many takers. I probably will later. And if someone isn’t going to be doing anything with their rolls, I find some excuse to keep them for an extra few minutes—talking about the game and such—to make sure the others don’t know that they didn’t do anything important. Keep suspicion up. :3
If anybody sees this and is interested, I’d be more than happy to start writing up a rulebook and such to send to you! :D
